Hi Guys,
Just wondering what the go is with the older protools HD cards that are PCI. They are poping up everywhere for sale. Can you run version 8 software with these? I know now is not the time to be buying a HD system because who knows whats going to be happening in the future but they are getting so cheap and it would work great as a location rig. In theory I should be able to get a magma case with a PCIe card to go in the Mac out to multipule PCI slots.
Am I crazy???
Cheers
Jason

I'm running PCIX cards on a powerpc G5. I cannot upgrade past 8.0.1. My thinking is that i'll use it for as long as I can, the longer I can stay out of the upgrade race the better. Search fleabay stores for Alto Music in New York.
