Don't know if any of the Melbourne crew on here knew him but thought I'd mention it. Great friend and awesome drummer Shane 'La La' Byrne passed away a couple of nights ago from a heart attack. He was only 39 and it was completely out of the blue.
Shane played in a bunch of seminal St Kilda bands such as Womnal, The F&*k F&*ks and The Violent Mood Swings, and his two most recent projects were called 'Gut' and 'Burn in Hell'. He could play drums on a beer keg like nobody else could.
Still waiting on funeral details. If anyone knew him and wants to know more please pm me.
Cheers.

Chris... you did a Womnal album? My god, what an event that must have been. I was with the whole band last week.
Shaner had an unbelievable sendoff, the crowd went all the way out into the street and we had all of his drums setup in the chapel.
5 drummers played him off. It was like Womnal on steroids. A really great positive goodbye.
