That is just what I was thinking. I thought it was just me but I don't like the new CD at all, what happen to poetry and story telling.
Most bands including Coldplay are doing a lot of oooohs, arrrrrs and yodelling these days with the same chorus lines going beyond repartition.
Are bands trying to sound like Coldplay or is Coldplay trying to sound like everyone else.

bit of a load there, things dont need to rhyme perfectly...
Songs don't need to be ABAB or AABB.

I can think of much worse, Ie, new simple plan song where they rhyme "voicemail" with "email"

Yes I'm not into moon spoon noon rhyme either but I must say I'm over the chanting that seems to be in every song these days.
You'd think for a music critic the first thing he would fix would be the car stereo. In fact he should have the latest shit hot system.

Agree - creatively narrow minded reviews (using shit stereo) - creatively stunted one hit wonder band .
Who cares if..... "I'll take that land - its now mine" does not perfectly rhyme with "the brutal suppression of the people of Palestine"

but if nothing else they usually sound pretty good.
and i think they are AWESOME live (even if i don't love the songs - one of the best shows i have ever seen, every time)

but does anyone else think the vocal sound (particularly) on the new album (and especially the single) is terrible?
i really don't even understand what they are trying to do.

Got the album in the mail on Friday & have listened to half of it in the car. Hard to imagine what they were thinking with that vocal sound. Made by people who have way more resources & experience than me, so I'm guessing it wasn't a mistake.

My favourite bizarro line will always be "To sing through the night like a lark that is learning to pray". (feel free to play "Name That Tune")
