Pardon me if I am wrong but that mic should not have a black badge right?
Also it looks like the gold plating has been done over the original engraving and paint for the cardioid logo and switches on the back.
Also the cardioid logo seems to be upsidown?

Are you trying to suggest this beautiful piece of craftmanship might not have come out of the factory like that? :D

I think you're right, and as a fet mic it should have a Purple badge, just like an 87.

Don't count on it!

The guy seems to mostly sell star wars figurines and now is flogging a suspiciously gold set of high end microphones?

Actually, come to think of it I must think about flogging off all those X-files action figures sitting atop my EMI console.

i saw that already mike and i am watching it
but really i am on my 12 step program on ebay i havent bought anything in well over 6 months

those fet 47 are the last series made the guy has had them in a display case for 20 years , i have seen the 87 and the 84 and the fet stereo donkey dick of the same run of gold , i reckon they are real they are 1 serial number apart ( there are two ) , i would bet on them being a display case promo item before seinhieser bought in

you guys can call scam , i would be calling collectable oddity .. if it was easy to know the difference we would all have everything .. and of coarse we dont

Yes, Ebay abstinence is a bullet proof form of Neumann contraception!

Do you know what that mount is for?

i suspect its the german broadcast version of a cable wired location boom cradle
so you can tilt the mic angle via a cable

but it doesnt look west / neumann nor mole richardson

my guess is its east or maybe shoeps certainly very 50s

in another timeline it would be mine !

stick your m49 clamp it on the tuchel
run it up a electric golf cart of a mic stand use a long wired cable to adjust the angle and the drop

and freak the hell out of the nice neighbours 16 year old daughter you are teaching to make records in your spare time :)

Pretty sure NickF was early in the line, but I saw he also asked Greg if his PM was received earlier this week. I also sent a PM but think I was too late in. I've seen those mics coming out of Greg's magical cupboard, and I'm just going to post him my credit card I reckon.

Jokes Lee!! You're gonna love it!!

If this was my mic & it's job was to capture Kicks or cabs, I would take out the old mint K47 capsule & replace it with a New K47 from Neumann.Keeping the K47 orig to the mic up my sleeve for later!

So this character has had the mics gold plated himself. Not self executed but commissioned to a professional according to the ad. Why would one do that?
