U87 - late 70's or early 80's will have to check, doesn't have battery. $2350 SOLD

Hey Barney-

I know we talked about the 34B before- I actually just ordered all the parts plus spares needed to fix the unit I already have, so hope to have it up and running in a few days. Then I'll start trying to mod it for a mic pre!

Angus- jury is out, I've heard some great reports on them as 'dirty' pres (they are Germanium transistor based), and others tell me they are not worth the hassle and it's best to purchase the 74 series of RCA pres. Personally I think it will be reasonably easy to mod to a pre.

Anyway, long story short, if you don't want it Angus, I'll grab it to have a pair. If you do end up buying it, drop me a line, as I've got spares for a few parts for it that are tricky to find.

Are they fully functioning?

EDIT: I know they need to be racked, but is each module working?

I've powered up the pre module and it works. I've not powered up the PSU, my plan was to recap it first.

Apparently audio gear isn't valid currency for tradespeople, taking offers.

I'd love to take the RPQ but it is just the wrong time. Not interested in trading for something else you might sell?
