Recording St Andrews Cathedral, Friday 20th

Postby peat » Tue Jun 17, 2014 9:13 am

Hi guys,

Received this enquiry but am I available this Friday and probably don't have the gear to do this.
If you are interested or know anyone who is, let me know and I'll put you in contact.

Message:

'm looking for a location recording engineer to track a choral ensemble & a few instruments at Sydney Cathedral (St Andrews) this Fri 20th Jun (from 5pm onwards).

This would be for about 4 hours.

It won't be live, but with the ensemble singing separate parts against a track - therefore would need a headphone rig with around 8 channels as well.

I'm hoping to roughly match what was captured from past sessions while using a different engineer who is unavailable for the upcoming date.

The setup for previous sessions - basically 3 stereo mic pairs + 1 spot mic -

AEA R88 stereo ribbon (Blumlein)
KM184's (ORTF pair)
Royer 121 + Rode K2 (M-S ambient)
U87 (spot mic)

if someone has the mics, but not the mobile recording gear (and/ or location experience) i could do the gig… but don't have the specific mics.
so we could do it together and split it…
