NRMA allow me to add my recording gear and musical instruments to my home contents policy as "specified portable valuables" which worked out cheaper for me than getting a new policy altogether.

Last time i checked it was one of the few companies that allowed musical gear to be a "specified portable valuable" on a contents policy - most insurance companies red flag the idea and draw the line at musical gear...

I can recommend Marsh, they are in SA. Unfortunately i've had to make a claim and know others that have too and they have been great.
