Some have a midi out so that explains the bass sound, what an incredible performance, and what a serious young woman
damn! i thought she was making the sounds all with the stock sine tone!!

Actually, most have a MIDI IN so you can get the thing to play in tune without having to practice (well, that and theremin's can go out of tune pretty easily).
The waveforms out of a modern theremin can be pretty complex, with envelopes and filters, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the bass was out of that box.
