new mac pci and pci express blues

Postby bennyboy » Mon Apr 28, 2008 1:45 am

hey im over seas at the moment and the people back home i have entrusted with my protools rig have some how managed to destroy my mac g5 (dont ask)
nice enough they have purchased (replaced) a brand new power mac (hoping when i get back i would not be angry)

now the problem they (i)have is that they have discovered that the protools cards wont fit cause there pci not pcie or what ever

has any one got a solution apart from forking out a bomb for the new cards

i was thinking was there any sort of expansion unit that goes from pci express to pci

or am i better off getting a second hand g5 off evilbay and giving my wife the power mac
