Are some components "sealed" in Epoxy blocks? A common aspect with some Optro gear.

best of luck there , they were built in melbourne and designed by graham thirkell i believe.
he does not seem to have schematics or any interest in help out over other optro stuff
i have had hes at the wrong age and stage of his life for such things

we had those comps at festival but could never get them to be calibrated to worth using .
the festival pair were bought by an ex employee ( err not me ) and sold in a dodgy a description to an unlucky ebayer who really got some junk ( err jim still got them .. do they work yet..?).
its a pity because it all looks like it should be great stuff , so circuits ...anybody ...?

I spoke to my mate Alan Jenkins who used to work for Graham and had the schematics for the Optro tape machines. He is having a look but it might take a while. He is the guy that built the Audek desk that is in another thread......he is still working on that too. He is the one to fix this stuff too but is very busy with other things at the moment The epoxy can be dissolved leaving the components in tact i will speak to him on that one too. Let you know soon.

Yes the optro's passed through my hands into Mr Hornibrooks. He took 2 & returned 1 with some bits & pieces. I rarely used it so it went on Ebay. I looked for schematic's & talked to Graham and others with no luck.

I've repaired a couple of optro things over the years. Never seen a schematic, so reverse engineering all the way. I had one unit that had a sealed epoxy block that was faulty so i worked out what it was supposed to do and then built my own circuit to replace it.
This isn't a snack and eats time
