Mogami W2549 Cable ?
Who or where is the best place to buy this in bulk e.g. 328 foot, 646 foot (sorry to use USA terms).
I am always making mic cables and am sick of buying smaller cable untis.
Cheers

Dale,
I bought about 100ft of Mogami 2524 back in 2004 at $0.46US per foot.
This was the cheapest place I could find it online at the time.
http://www.electroniccity.com/shopping/
All up, it cost me about $70US incl shipping..
I was wiring my guitar rack at the time..
Check them out - they have a good range of Mogami
Otherwise,
If you want them pre-made with neutrik connectors, there is an Ebay store that does them for about 34 bucks.. Puresonics

I could do with some 2549 as well - need to make up a few different length cables..
Mainly for my lunchbox gear .. although a couple of new mic leads wouldn't go astray..
I'd be up for a share of cable if interested..

Colour
Do we have a preference of colour if I was to buy this bulk stuff? And what lengths do people want?
I got a price of $3.65 from Australian distributor but minimum of 100 metre roll. I think after a bit of research I can get it for around $3 per metre OS. Is that really worth the trouble?
Cheers

That's them - they are on Ebay as well...
I have them in my favourites..
However... it probably is cheaper to make your own cables, particularly if custom lengths are required...
If you do the math,
2 x Neutrik connectors (XLR M&F) $14.00 (approx $7.00 each from RS Components)
6m 2529 Mogami cable = $21.95
DIY soldering = free!!
Thats $35.95 per cable.
This doesnt include postage and shipping costs.
Now, if you bought from the US link I posted above costs would be as follows.
20ft (6m) 2529 = $17.60US (20 x $0.88)
2 x neutriks = $3.74 (M XLR) and $4.17 (F XLR) - Gold contacts
Shipping - N/K
Going on parts alone, thats $25.51US..
This doesnt include postage and shipping costs either.
Can pay to buy O/S but depends on how long you need to wait..
Sometimes it just better to buy in Oz and have them quickly..

depends on if you value your time or not!!
if you work your "time" out at an hourly rate then it is definitely not free!!
True Geoff, but technicians are even more expensive - so you are still saving money..... just maybe not as much..... well... you know....

i can get 150 metres for about $470 inc (that's about $2.85 pm + gst). of course i just realised that you guys are all in sydney which defeats the point a bit, but if anyone in melbourne wants some, i don't need that much.

I just orded a whole bunch of cables from Arvind @ Puresonics for my API lunchbox and some small outboard gear that I have.
Talk about professional. He had them made up, labelled with custom ring colours at no extra charge as well as being super fast and cheap on postage. Even threw in 2 quad core Mogami Neglex mic cables at wholesale price with my other order (which are going on the KM85s)
24hr turn around on custom cables - how awesome is that. Will get them tomorrow.
I even had him make a set of cables that I accidentally got the connectors wrong and he offered to make an adaptor at minimal cost (I got him to make up new cables and will keep th others for future wiring things tho).
If you want quality Mogami cables, with Neutrik connectors at great prices and fast postage - he's the man!!
if not, you can always make your own (like I still sometimes do - I just couldnt be bothered this time around)
