Guitarist in my band, just bought a new guitar...
The Heritage (gibson LP standard style).

holy crap...!!!

if anyone's after a new guitar...seriously forget new Gibson's and check these out....amazing amazing tone....FYI, if ppl reading dont know, The Heritage are actualy the same folks that built Gibson's in their old factory...so these ppl set up shop, in keeping with the old factory's philosophies...

we plugged in a 10,000 dollar PRS to compare....and according to our tastes....the Heritage owned it, for refined tone...even with extreme overdrive....still has this really classy, buttery smooth sound...The stock hand wound pickups were better and more expensive sounding than the same guitar with Seymour duncans....

a must try ...for any serious guitarists :) i havent heard a guitar wow me like this, for a while!

varied, the one we were most floored with and ended up buying... 5K.

they're all hand made, and not identical, etc...even hand wound pickups...so sometimes maybe a cheaper one might be better....

they've got ones for 3K as well...

thats a pretty good wrap for a guitar if their ever was one,

were you using the mesa you have mentioned in a few other threads?

was it just some serious mojo, or were their notable differences that just made it stand out?

I am intrigued, I have found with Les Pauls in particular they can be all over the shop in terms of consistancy, but I think it comes done to being setup properly, I tried I think about 20 les pauls before settling on mine,

and if anyone is interested there is a guy in adelaide that does custom winds for pick ups at a very reasonable price that just blow me away

I think I am going to have to check one out.

What is the playability like?

Are they the same dimensions as the standard Gibson les pauls?

What I mean is, if you pick both up and played them unplugged, would you notice a difference?

They're definately a nice guitar and well worth considering if you're in the market for a Les Paul.............18 months ago it looked as though the company would disappear.

Considering the number of LPs we've imported, I still find all the claims people make regarding inconsistancies in Gibson's quality somewhat "odd", as evey one that's passed through our hands or still "lives" here has been a damned fine instrument.

im not the guitarist, my guitarist said that the PRS "felt only a little better"....but that was coz the Heritage needed to be lowered a little....or so we think


we were playing through a Mesa dual recto...and every channel, that thing sounded like god.....the Clean tone...with every guitar usually sounds like poo...even clean tone on clean amps shits me...it sounds like plinky plonk garbage...but the clean tone on this is amazing....you can do a clean solo, without needing reverb or delay....and imo, you know you've got a winner when the guitar has a sparkle that doesnt need reverb or delay.

Also, i am never really that impressed with most guitars i hear (for heavy metal playing that is). Most sound very annoying in the high end, are lacking bass...etc...also, most guitars sound like shit when u play up high....we were doing double stop bends on this thing with sustain for days, up to the 12th fret !

then when you start cranking the gain, the guitar sounds like its on fire :) So, yeah...massive mojo..i assume thats coming from the hot pickups....anothe great thing is that the pickups are dead quiet, even on big ass gain....(i think these pickups won some award...and its not hard to see why).

Son of Sam..these are lauded to play exactly like GOOD les pauls...they are made by the makers of the originals..i think the dimensions are the same, check the site...as im not too sure.

not sure if i missed anything out....nothing negative about these things...plus they look hot as hell, lol
