ITB Cubase/Nuendo Question...

Or you could do it on mixdown day on my pc by duplicating the track, it's still not maxed out with the sessions, then at least it will still be there in the session. Would'nt take long to do.

Sorry JK for taking so long... been a really long day. I'm not sure if Cubase can do this or not but I did this in Nuendo 3 just a few minutes ago...

I set up a group channel with an insert (effect A).
Then I setup an FX channel with an insert (effect B).
I set the vocal track send to effect A (the group channel) and set the effect A send to effect B (the FX channel).
Then I could just send effect A to effect B or vice versa, and could even hit the pre-fader button on either of them or both of them, etc.

Therefore, this sent an effect to another effect. Is this what you were trying to do??? I hope so.

done, yes roy, that is what i wanted to do...

it doesnt make sense that i have to do this from a group channel....oh well!!

that last problem was annoying me....

BUT now its solved..and im very happy

now for Part 2....

How would one be able to route the output of 1 group to another?!?!?

that does not seem to be possible..much to my utter confusion!!!!

According to the manual...

You can route the output of a group to an output bus or to another
group with a higher number.
You cannot route a group to itself. Routing is done with the Output Routing pop-up
menu in the Inspector (select an automation track for the Group in the Track list) or in
the input/output settings area at the top of each channel strip.

I haven't tried this myself.

ich ben tried this already Bob snare...Zig heill!!!!

ill try it again though, i received a nuendo session where i COULD route to groups...not sure why, i THINK it was coz the groups were defined in the VST connections area...

why oh why i dunno why cubase is making it hard, it clearly isnt the fuhrers choice with this level of complexity!!!

Jamil,

Nuendo 4 has free routing. I don't really use it but i'm sure you can route left and right. I think Cubase 4 also has this. It may be easier to pay for an upgrade. I'll check it out for ya or feel free to pop over and check it out yourself.

pete,

my drummer has cubase 4, i was able to route an effect and group....to another group,

so yes, those crazy SS have fixed up their act!!
