An option worth considering is a good old console. Most wont have a Jenson transformer but for bang for buck the eq, would be as functional as the Speck for example plus you get the added advantage of a analogue summing. Diferent desks have different sonic signatures . The older Soundcraft Studio desks and Amek/Tac Scorpions or a used Midas, DDA. The EQ on the Amek Recall i had was very powerfull and better than most of the newer outboard options.

I've used a couple of Orban model EQ's.. a fairly 'sweet' sound with a bit of 'zing', though impossible channel matching for stereo use. Occasional dirty pots was all.

Hey Chris,
Yeah doing well. Just been doing the live recording thing. I also just got my Electrodyne comps back from Barney and Gavin. They are great guys. I'm looking forward to firing them up and seeing what they can do. Hows the bubs coming along??? When are we reaming next?

If someone on the board is selling the Orban 624 on eBay - drop me a PM.
I've bid on it – $500 au seems a little above market value – but am happy to negotiate if it's a fellow turtlerocker and you want to sell it soon (probably should have bought it now but hesitant without knowing the particular units history).

mixmasters have an orban 621b eq (older version of the 624) for $900 - this appears overpriced given they have just listed a 624b listed for $550. Prices in the states have averaged $250-350US (now on parity with the AU$ 500 after this weeks market shenanigans) but seem to have gone up a little recently. Add a hundred bucks for a tech to take a look at the unit and I'd probably be better off taking Rick up on his offer of the SPL Qure for $1000.
I also know ABC studios offloaded a bunch of Orban gear quite recently and the prices were a little lower than $500 a pop - should have got it then...
