a tentative yes from me. Looking good at the moment, but I coul easily be a last minute cancellation.

In which case I get to be the wounded private from any number of WWI films and say:

"go on without me!"

so consensus is that it won't be a huge afternoon - just a catch-up / ice breaker.

last time, we ended up just chatting audio-geekery. didn't even put up a mic. if that's how it goes, no problem!

looking forward to seeing you all!

chris.

hey to every I caught up with at Chris's......

was awesome to meet you, apologies if I was rude or overstepped some boundaries definetly didnt mean to.....

cheers chris for being an awesome host.

here is the closest I can get to describing what a trainwreck sounds like

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2_12Ler9B8 with a les paul

and a strat
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=E3VhCRFoF ... re=related

dont know if it is a good way to describe a trainwreck as I am sure a few eq changes have been done

hey simon, mate - you're fine! don't fret - we all had a great time, and you didn't step on nothin.

just get some sleep, tiger.

and thanks for the trainwreck samples - i'll have a listen.

but we when were talking about classic sounds, and there was banter about a strat through a marshall. i didn't open up at the time, but i don't see the point.
if it's a marshall, it's gotta be big-ass humbuckers and therefore it's gotta be a gibson (gretsch is ok, i guess)
don't give me none of that single-coil shit, yo! its like thin chicks - theres nothing to hold on to!!

anyway - i'm looking forward to catching up again soon, and having a look at your rotary speakers.

Thanks again Chris for being a great host. Your home brew is about the best i have sampled.
Took the opportunity to take this pic with Chris's console in the background. Nice setup!

that's a lovely shot, mate!

thanks for coming along. i'll be bottling the Spotswood Bitter tonight, and the next batch of Ale should be hitting the bottle this weekend. so give it a couple of weeks bottle maturation and i'll be ready to have you all over again!

yeah, thanks again Chris. I learned heaps, as always, happily taking it all in.

Your comments over the 2nd glass of ale, re: drinking and driving were prophetic - hit a booze bus (well, not literally) coming into Geelong! I was sitting there going, ok, I know I shouldn't be over the limit, but just how strong is mfdu's ale? Please please please please...

Got waved through. Phew! I should have been right, but I really didn't want to find out the hard way!

far as i can tell, it's around 5.8%. be glad - when i first built it is was going to be around 7.8%, so i added 6 litres of water to the fermenter to bring it back under control.

the Spotswoodian Bitter will weigh in around 4%, so a much better option for that mid-day thirst quencher.

sheesh - it's starting to feel a lot like the aussiehomebrewer forum here.

but i'm just glad you took to gentlemans option to not keep drinking!!!
