api ad2

Postby anj » Thu Nov 13, 2008 1:43 pm

We have an api ad2 connected by spidf to a protools 002 in our studio b.
Our main recording software is cubase 4, when we select direct monitoring there is no audio to monitor.
Is there a workaround or an other option to make this work.

cheers Anj.

checked the monitoring options in preferences? im always on tapemachine style.

fiddling with that usually fixes things??

and sorry to state the obvious if u've already tried this, but make sure the SPDIF inputs are specified in VST connections.

And more obvious stuff, make sure you toggle the monitor button to the right of the record button on the track, it gets dicky sometimes.

Tried all that...... It works fine when I monitor the outputs from the 002 (while using 002 preamps) but when the api is connected through the 002 with spidf, it must bypass the 002's monitoring capabilities.
When I uncheck direct monitoring there is sound, check monitoring there is no sound.

would a split from the preamp into a desk etc. be the way to do it?
Ive explored all the logical possibilities and this seems to be the only option.
