Gday all
I scored a reel of belden 8451 cable and want to make some insert leads using pairs of cable, and them bunch them together into a loom. I know zip ties are a good way of keeping them together but I want to know how the pros do it. Is there a flexible tubing that I can get. I thought of heat shrink but it isn't flexible enough.

Altronics have this sort of cable type loom, depends on number of cables you'll have though. I've seen larger ones but not sure where to source them though?

if you use this stuff, fold the cut ends back inside themselves and secure with a cable tie or some heatshrink.

I like the look of this stuff, but how do you get the lengths of cable down the sleeve? Is there a trick to this?

Just buy a diameter large enough to take all the cables. Push the two ends towards each other and it will expand. Push cable bundle through, then pull ends away from each other to relax/tighten the braid. You should not have it too tight, or use a diameter smaller than the bundle, if you do it will become much less flexible. If it is loose around the bundle when the braid is "relaxed", then you will be able to bend/flex the loom.

I have a few lengths of similar sheath that I used for a pedalboard snake about 4 yrs ago - nice stuff.
A mate sent me some from Melb that he used.
I have some left over depending on how much you need.. I have a few feet of it I'm sure..
You're welcome to it if you like..
