Tyan S2895 Bios Help

Hi Guys,

I flashed my bios to latest as I was having some weird clitches. So, after what seemed a successful flash I rebooted and now I get nothing. No Boot from either HD, DVD or floppy. It doesn't even sound like its looking. Just goes straight to a little flashing white curser in the top left of screen.

Has anyone experienced this before with this MOBO. Have I missed a setting somewhere? If so, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping the MOBO is still ok. Are there other jumper settings I should try??

Ok, so I cleared the CMOS with the jumper and rebooted. before entering the BIOS setup, after the memory check it said " 0251 System CMOS Checksum Bad".

I'm assuming that's not very good.

This won't help Pete as all I can say is, doh!

Try flashing it a few times, if you hav'nt already, I've found sometimes it needs to be done several times.

proceed with healthy dosage of fists and boots.

that helps ...wierdly enough...computers are a bit precious sometimes :)

Wish I could. Can't even get a boot from floppy to reflash. I'm trying to source a new bios chip. If not I'll have to buy another MOBO. PITA.

Whilst I'm at it, can anyone sugest a great mobo for a pair of Opteron Dual core 270's.

I always buy my computer gear from these guys, a mate used to work there but it seems evey piece of gear I've bought here has lasted well beyond it's time.

I dunno actually I'm sure someone can suggest somewhere better, seems they carry less stock than they used to, maybe just give them a call.

Well, the mobo is certainly expensive enough tthat it'd be worth hunting down a bios chip!

These guys sell the board so they may be able to source parts..
