What do you guys think of the latest AKG C414BXLS mic?

Does that matter? I mean, if you're looking at it from an investment point of view then you're looking in the wrong direction. If you want something that's going to be a good investment, buy gold.

Buy the mic because you like the sound and have use for it, not for it's re-sale value. Generally speaking, mass factory produced items rarely end up going up in value. Particularly those in the electronics category.

Great looking mic, pretty average sound, go figure. If you look around you could get something way better than a 414 for maybe a few hundred more.

Though they will do the job if a 414 is what you want. It will always be worth pretty much what you pay for it or less.
