When I was growing up Tommy was one of my favourite drummers (yeah I love a bit of c0ck rock! see my avatar!) and now it looks like
I have something else to look up to with his new studio..

wow you guys see serenity and i see a tasteless , vulgar project studio setup !
i wish i was the guy at the guitar center that sold him all that stuff.
or the interior decorator that showed him how to make it so classy .
that studio it looks like a stripper thinking she is dressed suitably to have dinner with the queen.

Nothing, but you used the words " Tasteless, Vulgar, Stripper" in reference to Tommy Lee's Studio. It just seemed to fit.

I think they go well together. Not that I've ever met Pam. I'm purely basing my perceptions on what I've read or seen on her home movies. I'm not sure "class" ever came to mind. Hot, sexy and vivacious, maybe even smart, but i recon I could pick out a whole lot more classy ladies. :-)

ah its just the eastern statues , faux gothic revival, marble handrail stuff, costs the earth
looks like you have no idea how much a dollar is really worth stuff
i hate looking at rockstars playrooms unless they are studio guys through and thru,
IE Neil Finns new studio looks nice , Neil young has it going on etc

Yep, gotta agree there with you Rick - Neil Finn's studio is one of the most relaxed looking studios I've seen. AT did a nice write-up on it..

each to their own I guess but I think it's more about Context here.. each studio has their own personality and that of their owners..
The Atrium studio is owned by a Rockstar - he does a lot of songwriting and producing there - it obviously has a bit of him in it. You would go in there and throw down some Jager Bombs before laying down some dirty
guitar tracks.. it's very Hollywood and that's the clients it would get - after all that's the bands and lifestyle it would attract.
Neil Finn's studio looks very relaxed, the kind where you'd throw on your woolen cardigan and sip some merlot before laying down some mellow spacey tunes.. it sort of has a parents lounge room vibe to it and would also be very out of place in LA - as would the above studio in sleepy NZ town!!
Turtlerock has a cool vibe of inner city warehouse with vintage dials, knobs, tube testers and vu meters - that vibe wouldn't work in Paris or New York but obviously works fine in Sydney.
301 has that corporate clinic'y office space feel to it - not my vibe but obviously works well for corporate clients.
The Mill has that fresh air country barn vibe to it and would attract those type of clients wanting to get away from the city.
It's all about the vibe and each has their place and obviously their owners vibe is a part of that.
Hell if I had that sort of spare cash I'd build something that I'd be proud of too!! (whoops I just did - but with no "spare" cash!)..

I would like a perfect blend of those two thank you.
- Cabin full of vintage gear in a forest at the edge of a beach. Is that asking too much?
