GLEN LEVY STUDIO'S PROGRAM EQ (PULTEC COPY) SOLD SOLD SOLD

This is a very reluctant sale so pick it up before I change my mind.
This is an EXTREMELY rare tube program EQ, of the same classic design as the Pultec EQP-1A. It was hand made in the Late 1950's by Geoff Frost for Levy Sound Studios, which later became CBS in England, and is one of only two that are known to exist; it was custom made to be an in house copy of the famous program EQ. Geoff is the designer of the legendary Sound Techniques "A range" consoles which recorded many classic songs and artists, and were found in famous studios worldwide, so this is no amateur reproduction.
It sounds just as you would expect.. a huge low end, and a crystal clear high end with all that tube warmth. It is truly a classic unto itself, and considering all the efforts made by many companies to copy the sound of the Pultec in recent years, here is one made back in the day by an expert. It really does sound incredible. It really ads an impressive tube sound. Many producers and engineers commented that "It sounds just like my pultec!" (which of course, it does ( if not better)!) Since I have owned this unit I have discovered the following information. When these were in service at their original studio, I am told they were even used by Jimmy Hendrix himself when he recorded at CBS. It was also used to record the first Who album and the first Kinks album. There's plenty of soul hear. Maybe even some remnants of Jimi himself....
The eq also spent of time at CBS STUDIO'S UK (originally Sound Techniques Studio's), where Jimi's album ARE YOU EXPERIENCED was recorded.
Since this unit is beyond rare, almost one of a kind, its a real piece of recording history. Its reserve is WELL below that of a $5000 Pultec, so here is your chance to have that amazing classic tube program EQ at a much lower cost. Whatever you do, DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS! This EQ has an amazing history, and was designed by one of the greats. This EQ has always worked without problem, and was working fine when we took it out of service, but due to its age, it is sold as is. Typical of gear from its era, it interfaces via stereo TRS (stereo 1/4") connectors on the back. The buyer could easily swap these out for XLR if they chose, or keep it original as I did. It is open backed for ventilation purposes. Good luck!

I saw that. It looks great.
I'm not the king of EQ, so I couldn't justify the expense, but good luck with the sale.
