Legacy Studio Furniture

Before I go and make something myself, I was wondering if anyone had tried the Legacy Studio Furniture... I've just scaled everything down in the studio to make pretty much a small production station only, so I don't need the massive desk I was using.

The Legacy stuff looks alright, and the "creation station" model certainly has about the right amount of space for the gear I'm using (interface, couple of pre's, 1x20"monitor, 824's, Mackie Control, 88-note weighted).

Any opinions? I'm expecting them to be cheap flimsy crap but am happy to be surprised. I've only seen one half set up in Billy Hydes, so I couldn't really guage how strong they'd be.

I also looked at the Legacy gear Dave - until I bought my workstation off Ebay for $52 (and the guy threw in a 2nd one just so he could get rid of it - bonus!!)
I barstardised them and made a larger unit from the two..
They seem to look alright, but if you're scaling back, why not make your own custom size/shape and save a few $$
I have some plans for a custom unit if you are interested.

Nothing beats custom made, even for a simple desk because you can adapt the build to your workspace or how you work.

I agree. I just built some rack furniture that should have cost me a huge arm and a leg to buy. They look great, function how I want and I couldn't be happier. For the price I sold my old pre fab furniture for,
I was able to build better furniture with double the rack space. All that and it was also a great father / son project. I haven't argued so much with my dad in years. ha!

I had a creation station for a while. I had a fair bit of weight on it and once tried to roll it across my room and it buckled under the weight on one wheel so I learned that you shouldn't do that :/ Also it might work better in a trapezoidal room or something, it seems to take up a lot of space. I'm more inclined to customise something to a particular space after my experience. I did like the way all the bits of wood fit together so snugly but not the laminated chipboard and if I remember a couple of the screw-like metal nuts were very cheap and one of them snapped pretty easily.
