The prices are the same for pre-assembled as kits! ???

Will have to do some further research into these guys... That seems too good to be true.

If the sound quality has a good rep, I'm getting me a lunchbox and hitting them up. Research time!

I haven't had time to look into it too much, from what I could ascertain reading user reviews on GS (which can be sketchy) and elsewhere they are pretty top-notch units, especially for the price, but still most seem to favour the better-known high-end (and cost) brands (typically). Five Fish doesn't seem to market themselves very well though so it could be that word hasn't spread much yet. I'd like to find someone who's done some shootouts with API, Purple, Brent Averill etc and see where they place them. Let me know what your research turns up too!

Cheers

The chap is well respected on prodigypro/diy and I used his one of his website projects for the basis of one of my own diy projects with some altec preamps. Well thought out and well designed gear. When I get a 500 rack his stuff will make its way in. his api-ish clone and his neve-ish clone both look good on paper and the use of carnhill and EA transformers will definitely give a similar color/quality to the tones. I really appreciate the time and effort put in to the design and that the cost of kits is very fair considering the cost of the individual components. That being said I don't own any of it nor am I in anyway connected.
