Is anyone using a wacom tablet?

Is anyone using a wacom tablet with Ptools ?
Easier than a mouse or trackball?
Faster?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

i used to....stopped using it, gave me the shits pretty quickly.

it ended up being way to fluid, and i started working way too quickly ...and made mistakes more often! :P

also the mechanism is rather sensitive....i do admit to having used a wacom about 6 yrs ago...so no idea what they're like now!

I've often wondered about using a tablet too. Speaking of alternate controls... Has anyone tried using a touch-screen to drive their DAW?

I'm toying with the idea of getting a touch-screen and running the mixer window of Sonar in it. Only limitation is affordable touch-screens are single point so you could only grab one fader/knob at a time.

What about any new Trackball developments?
Its the RSI from mousing around....its been going for years now, trying to find a new solution.

It's the one thing I miss most an then one thing I'm looking to put back in my set up.

i suffer from regular office-induced RSI, and i also have 'skateboard wrist' (ie. i've snapped my wrists once too often)
so i've been using kensington Turbo Ball track balls for years now. couldn't do without 'em!

not just the fact of better control in movement due to the extra-large ball (he he he) but not requiring a mouse pad is a benefit as well.
and assignable buttons on the 'expertmouse pro' mean that i can assign main functions to the hot keys - start / stop / record, scroll fwd, scroll back, hokey pokey - now that's what its all about!!!!

I use a trackball now on my left hand - and wondering if a wacom tablet might be quicker or easier in any way - specifically for pro tools operations. Is anyone doing this?

I'm assuming that any old 30" Touchscreen and a nice 15degree frame will do the same job yeah? Great idea... I wonder how it'd go... especially if it has multitouch!

Come to think of it my fingers don't hurt anymore since I hav'nt done any editing for a year.

Unless the touch screen was very responsive it would drive me nuts, my korg triton has a touch screen and it's useful but can get just as annoying as a mouse.

The main thing I find really annoying about working on a daw is constantly looking in the same direction at the screen. I want glasses with the screen inbuilt so I can be looking anywhere and see whats going on. Then again it may make me sick, won't know though until tried.
