Quite interesting.

One interesting insight about the modern studio.
He said in his youth you would go into a studio and try every piece of technology to see what would happen. This usually took about half a day.
In the modern studio it would be more like 400 years he said.
So he sees his main role as a producer is to eliminate options.

"Choice is the killer of commitment"

Not sure who said this but it makes a lot of sense. With too many choices your never sure when to commit. Unlimited editing has killed creativity and performance.

I hate working with people who wont commit in the studio.

One other interesting Eno tidbit, given the amount of studio gear choices, he say's he likes to focus on one piece of technology at a time.
Use one gizmo on a project until he's done everything with it it's possible to do.
He certainly proved that with the DX7, being one of the most accomplished users.

Back to his thoughts on committing and eliminating choices.
When he's producing a band often the choice he does commit to is to explore one new road.
So if there are several choices in direction and only one they haven't chosen before, that's the route they'll typically choose.
