Selling a pair of racked Quad Eight MM 403 channel strips. Not cheap but these are vintage 70's and sound amazing.

$3,500 for the pair.

I do and I know, but I do hiring now and very little recording and I just can't get enough of API, Chandler LTD-1. So I'm going to get another LTD-1 or BAE 1073 and they're $3900 ea.

I thought about the C2 but I'm going to go for an Obsidian from Dramastic.

Actually, "Obsidian" sounds totally metal. http://www.dramasticaudio.com/Images/Ob ... ressor.gif

Not having a link button put me off the Obsidian. I've never run my C2 in linked mode, it narrows the stero image way too much. Dunno if the Obsidian does the same but I would'nt be surprised if it does.

One of the raves I've heard about the Obsidian is that it has a much greater/wider image than either the SSL or the Smart. Would be interesting to do a side by side.

Well maybe in linked mode, the c2 is fine when unlinked. My API 2500 though, does not narrow the image much if at all when fully linked. Beats me why the c2 does.
