local studio needed near Newtown/City..

Postby DaleRoyce » Tue Oct 13, 2009 11:54 pm

Some friends of mine are looking for a recording studio that will capture their magic (think neil finn-ish).
They played me a track, and told me the cost.. and i advised them to find some where else
that will capture their performances professionally (real recording spaces /high end gear and in-house engineer),
not home studio/protools fix up set up.. Anyway enough about that..
I'm thinking a space that can capture a beautifully recorded drum kit with all its natural resonances (maybe in house kit),
and so on from there....
These boys are thinking a day of recording and maybe a couple more in mix & production.

Any suggestions will be looked into.. Feel free to message me or email me on daleroyce@hotmail.com
Thanks.

Hey Dale,
Why not take the gig yourself. Take the band into a studio that you can get as a freelance engineer. Alot of places offer good rates for freelance engineers.
If you get the right studio, they will even have an assistant to keep things running smoothly. Don't just pass it on.

the quad 8 room in bjb is stellar.

also, what about linear? (i've wanted to have the chance to record there for years) bit smaller / cheaper than bjb. not newtown, but not far..

although; looking at blackfoot's webpage it seems to meet yr exact requirements...

There is not a lot of good places to go - lots of small studio spaces, but the bigger ones with nice big sounding drum rooms are slowly disappearing.
Sign of the times really

Your dead on, The choice is fantastastic in my own back yard (Newtwown/City/innawest).
I'm looking to do some visiting on mon/Tues/wednesday. But will do the call around tomorrow, after the band have a chat tonight.
