Here is a track from last fridays job. I was mixing FOH and took the direct outs from the console into logic using an apogee ensemble. On mixdown i added a few db of bass on the kick, toms and over the stereo buss. I also added comp and rev for a bit of glue on the mix. I'm interested how the bass translates on other systems.

hey chris,
that sounds great :)
listening on bloated , bose desktop speakers that reveal shitty low end easily, this is clean and clear..nice job !
id say the snare is slightly duller than the rest of the sounds in the mix, a shelf on that would solve that, if one were inclined.
and not sure if its just my taste, but i'd drop the threshold a bit on the mix buss comp? i think thats what im hearing??...or you can tell me to piss off :P

Thanks for the comments Jamil Thats what i'm after and its cool you pointed out the mix bus comp. It is my attempt to master while doing a quick mix. Good to hear the bass worked out on your bose system, its the main area where i think i'm guessing a fair bit of the time.
If its the one with the little speakers on the desk and the sub underneath, my son has that setup on his mac. His work is mainly in final cut pro

The sennheiser is a fairly unusual choice and not often seen exept in stage mic applications but i find it works real well getting an on mic type of sound when the player is moving around a fair bit. I had it on stage for micing the horn section of the big band and decided to use it as a "close mic" on the sax. Happy accident really.

Dale,
I've contacted the Admins at RP, it appears certain "permissions" may have disappeared during a change in servers or some such. I'll let you know here as soon as it's sorted.
