Just read this and the update mentioned at the bottom of the article

"UPDATE: I had a message on my phone this morning from Avid Audio/Digidesign Technical Support about this post. The C24 issue I was having has been logged as a bug for a fix in the next update (most likely 8.0.4 since 8.0.3 is closed). The “remove a send, lose your Undoâ€

Just set up your templates with a trim in the first slot (already set to polarity invert but bypassed).

Sure that'll do the job, but that's one less plug space I could be using.

I could just flip it in audiosuite too, but I'm after a non-convoluted solution.

Just put the button above the fader, in the fader, don't care.

It's only a matter of command clicking on the plug, and you've still got 9 slots left. But fair enough, it would be neater to have a dedicated button.

Greetings all, why do you do it that way,(polarity invert but bypassed) rather than simply press the invert button on the trimmer? any advantages? many thanks,

Because it's not necessary to call up the plugin and then hit the invert button, you just command click the trim slot (taking it out of bypass and phase flipping the channel). Not that I do this myself, but it's a way of having a row of polarity flip buttons if you set up templates like this.

lol, protools bugs and missing features.

i dont wanna start...well i kinda do, blame mark though :P

include F@#$ing timecode and polarity invert, almost all friggin companies in software do that....for FREE!!!

maybe 8 has added free timecode, maybe not.

The above are not bugs, thats shitty software. Problems with main features are simply not bugs...removing a send and loosing your undo should be picked up on pretty quickly by good beta testing... f@#$s sake, i could be wrong, but thats a pretty major "bug".

What's more embarassing is that this is the supposed "industry standard software".

Why move to 8 when 7.4 works so well for me.

Any yeh no phase switch in the mixer has always had me stumped.

WHy can't daw designers put a variable phase pot on the top of the mixer strip instead of just a polarity invert?
I mean like what year is it.. would be handier than all the ssl mix buss compressor emolations they keep making.
