it is an awsome 500 series lunchbox pre. Fat sounding and versatile with the impedance knob - Going from dark to airy.
I am only selling it coz I want to get two compressors and dont have the room.
I am all full in my 6 space luchbox.
asking $785AUD including postage to most (normal) parts of Australia.
If no one wants it here, I'll stick it on the bay.

hmmmm.... so - where does this sit (in terms of basic sound) amongst the various JLM mic pre kits you can buy?
also - if you don't have a lunchbox, how much work is it to get this up and running?

My name is Julian Higginson and I approve of this message.

It sits right between the 99V500 and the TG500
99V500: big sounds, vocals, acoustic
TG500: electric guitar, fixes harsh vocals
The NV500 sits between these and using the impedance knob, you can dial in close to the 99V500 and turning it the other way dial close to the TG500

you can get:
a 6 slot lunch box from between $650 and $700
a 11 slot rack case
a 10 slot rack case
a 2 slot, 1U high rack case that accommodates API 500 series modules
Here is a link where someone interviews Joe and he describes the pres
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-much- ... audio.html
do a search on the page for the NV500
hope that helps
