MCI 500 PATCH BAYS....$60 each

Postby 13thbeach » Wed Dec 23, 2009 5:44 pm

Well, I think the title says it all. I have a box full of MCI bantam patchbays to sell. Has a heap of cabling hanging from them etc.
Will need to build them into a box or something as they are not 19". $60 each

Since the posting is slow....

What is an MCI 500 patchbay?

(is it a patchbay designed for 500 series API lunchboxes?)

Oh OK. So you'd need to have one of those consoles to be able to use it? Or is it just that they mount into that width area and they can simply be used like a normal patchbay?

Yeah its for the console. You don't need to have a console though. Could be good to just put into a box etc... Not for everyone I know but I've got it sitting here and have no use for it. Still gotta ge those pics. Will do after santaday.

Nymo, thats tempting but I think I already have that episode of MacGyver. haha!

I'm semi interested... is anyone else?

I'm not one for lowballing, but I honestly have no idea how much they are worth. You must have a price in your head?

I'd love to pinch one off you. Maybe if there are other interested parties I can divide it up?

And for anyone who thinks "Bantam" refers to poultry..................it doesn't :-))

I would have jumped on the offer but it would mean selling off all my 1/4" bays and patch leads and re-making/buying all new leads with bantam plugs.
ChrisO.....I think. Oh, and F*#K Google, ask me!

If it's a full patchbay for an MCI console then it will need it's own enclosure. Their not 19", so a nice wooden DIY piece of timber work for mounting might be needed.
I started my engineering life on a MCI 428b and the thing that used to shit me with it was dirty patching connections. It was a smoking allowed studio of course. Needless to say I have lovely clean Bantam bays these days. Not a crackle.

The only thing I'd be worried about with Mat's patchbay's would be iced vovo crumbs. :)

Look! Bruce Swedien is selling his mobile patchbay's. MJ was patched through those. Shummon!! yehe!

Yeah thats right Ben. My old Harrison console was the same. Smaller than 19" so you will need to build a box for them.

No Vovo's in these ones. But it can be arranged.
