For Sale: Smart C2 Dual/Stereo Compressor

Postby beesting » Thu Jan 07, 2010 5:59 pm

Hi

I am looking to sell my Smart C2 Dual/Stereo Compressor. Price: $3,250 (plus postage).

I am located in Adelaide but can post interstate if required.

This compressor has only been used occasionally in my smoke free bedroom studio. Cosmetically in great condition and works perfectly.

Please be aware that I am also advertsising this unit elsewhere.

Please Private Message me if interested. Thanks.

I think the c2 is challenging the stereo compressor too.

No need to fight, settle it with the DM as proposed.

I'm no good at internet abbreviations... Private Message (Direct Message) me if interested.

And yes, my spelling was also off... dual not duel! Where is the spell/grammer check when you need it?

Hopefully I made it through this time without any spelling mistakes.

I have now made these corrections in the 1st post.

It's cool - just be glad you didn't put DP by mistake.

Not really interested in the compressor - but totally keen to talk about the universe to someone.

The comp seems expensive - is this what second hand C2's go for?

I did a ring around yesterday and the best deal I can get on a new C2 in Australia at the moment is $4400. So, my asking price is approximately a 30% saving from new. I am willing to cover delivery (in Australia) but don't want to drop the price. I don't see these come up to often on the second hand market in Australia.

I know in the US, second hand ones in good condition typically go for US$2,200 (e.g. on gearslutz)

So by the time it hits Australia it costs...

Convert to AU$ = US$2,200*1.09 = AU$2,398
Add 5% Customs Fee = AU$2,644
Add Shipping of AU$200 = $2,844
Add 10% GST (Payable on Imported Item & Shipping) = AU$3,128
Add Customs Processing Fee AU$65 = AU$3,193

I don't think my asking price is too far off the mark for the Australian market. I'd rather keep it than take a massive hit.

If any one is interested, let me know. Thanks guys.

I've seen them sell for that price too, but what you're asking is fair considering they used to cost $5000 brand new here. Don't worry about spelling mistakes and grammar, hang around here long enough and you'll soon forget how to spell. :)

Actually, to do a currency conversion USD to AUD you divide by the current rate which is about 0.9

So you go USD2200 / 0.9 = $2444.44AUD

not multiply. Almost $50 difference.

That's effectively what I was doing. I was using 0.92 as the current AU$ to US$ exchange rate (obviously this changes daily but is hovering around the 0.90 mark as you suggest).

So my "1.09" multiplier was calculated by 1/0.92

Is anyone interested in a Smart C2 around here or does anyone know someone who is looking for one? I have only posted this item here and on gearslutz prior to going to trading post, eBay etc...

Let me know, thanks :)
