ok so i now know this is a "common issue" but i didnt at the time.
we have mac os9 pt mix 5.xx and a bunch of firewire drives.
if i connect the wrong 2 firewire drives at the same time, one of the drives overwrites the other and i have to rebuild the disk to get my data back. not fun.
so my question is, how do you guys deal with multiple fire wire drives/ sessions/ engineers all using the same computer?
is there a firewire switcher, smart hub (that makes sure there arent 2 drives with the same id) or any other way?
we have been running 1 drive at a time, but i need to copy some stuff from between 2 drives, and these are 2 that have been nackered before, so im scared.
cheers,
damien
