Can anyone suggest a good quality, reliable headphone amp?
I need:
NON-rackmount
4 channels
Able to drive high and low impedance cans.
Good quality.
Not expensive.
Want to steer away from B%#@$%& and ART.
Has anyone tried one of these?

Re: Headphone Amp Suggestions
Rob, pro harmonic, built a four channel headphone amp for me and it is great.
Haven't found any headphones it doesn't cope with.
However I don't know if I would put it in the cheap category.
I had a be!@#$%^& I used before hand, don't think I could bring myself to go back now I have the new one.

Somehow I doubt that a $90 amp from anybody will be any better than (or even as good as?) a be!@#$%^& or ART....

I've been using a Rolls HP amp, meets all your criteria: Non rackmount, 4 outputs, and I've put a number of different brands of cans through it and never had an issue. Only problem is, I bought from the US and thus need to run it through a step down transformer.

Re: Headphone Amp Suggestions
thanks for the thumbs up guys re the Headphone amps.
and as noted ...they aren't cheap. But thats the end of the spectrum I choose to work at....and I need more than a bowl of rice a day...
but I do know of a new Headphone amp kit that is in development that will be more affordable and very good....but that's in the future and you probably want one now.
you know, the be!@#$%^& HP amp for heaphones above 32 ohms ( which is most ) isn't that bad really for general use and all these budget HP amps are pretty much of the same design, so it comes down to features and facilities.
As always the go with a question such as yours, is ... answer the question yourself ... get your headphones, your favorite music CD plus a CD of raw, unmastered stuff ( an uncompressed stereo drum mix is a good tool ) and go to a retailer and listen to what's on offer.
