Ha - you know me to well.
TK Audio BC1 - and I am getting Ben to put Silver (2000) DBX chips in it.

What exactly is the benefit of using DBX can VCA's?
I didn't realise that the BK1 had something similar. I would have thought it just used modern production that vca ic's.

Oh man! That sounds pretty risky Angus... though perhaps my outrageous (although somewhat subtle and unenthusiastic) is
due to the 40 odd hours I've spent over the last few weeks reversing modifications and cut traces on channel strips. Sometimes
I wonder why people spend so much money on gear in an attempt to make it something it isn't (and probably will never be)...
The BK1 has had a lot of nice reviews as it is, will cutting it to pieces to install much older dbx cans really gain a whole lot? For
the kind of money involved, anj's Al smart C2M would probably be in reach.

I've got to say I have to agree with samas.
Apart from a couple of famous mods like the La4a mod, of which I have one, it can be often safer to just leave things alone.

Not at all. I can't think of all the known great mods, but Joe's mod is definitely one of them.
Did not mean to offend.

I wouldve totally bought this if the knobs were a bit more bling.
