Jewel lamp holders

Hi all

Does anyone have a local source for these jewel lamp holders - just like pic (holder only/without jewel light). I only need 2 for my diy gpultecs.
Hole size is 17.5 mm
Any help is appreciated.

Any guitar amp parts supplier will help you out. Do you already have the jewel and a lamp?

I got mine just from eBay. I can't remember the sellers name but they were a valve amp place in Melbourne and the guy was really helpful.

FWIW most of these lamps are 6.3 V so you just need to grab 12V of the secondary of your first power trafo and drop it down by halfish. Adjust for brighness taste!

I have the jewels. Infact I've had them for years and it's great their going to get a go. So just need the holders.
I saw the ebay ones but they are a complete set. I may have to do that but would prefer just the holders.
Maybe I should contact them and see if they just do holders.

if you have never noticed pultec "jewels" are not the jewel cut with flats type at all
they are the dome smooth shaped jewels
but you knew that and thats what you have saved right ?

The ones I've been carrying around with me for 17 years are jewel cut..so...doh....damn it!

So like this for all pultecs; including solid state?

Anyway what I'm building isn't a pultec. It's a wannabe/try hard pultec. I'm just doing my best to pretend by adding those lovely cosmetic finishes that they have. It's a bit of a ....(add your own word here) really. But fun.....then expensive...then fun...then...and so on. Just smoke, mirrors and delusion.

I gave up trying to make my fit look authentic. My first ssl style compressor is spent weeks and many front panels trying to get a similar brushed aluminum look as the real deal, I got the sifam meter and knobs, blah blah...

Then one day I realized if I just painted all my gear the same nice grey with black text and used whatever vintageish meters and knobs I had within arms reach I could get to the stage of using the kit much faster.

So, like you Ben, my pultec has a fender style cut jewel cover, but I forget about that pretty quickly when I'm picking which frequency makes the bass guitar sound best...

Yeah, first it was the front panels that was going to be the icing on the cake. Then it's the knobs. Then it's the light.
I need help. Is there a number I can call?

I've done a few diy pieces now and I've tried to show some similarities to originals were feasible but it's not what's important to me. Just showing some respect to the origins I guess.

I did settle for chicken heads on freq selectors.

Yeah ben, a doff of the cap to the original is always nice. Doing another gssl at the moment in grey like all my other stuff but I think I'll grab some sifam knobs to say 'hey, ssl, you're o'right".

the round ones are not quite like hens teeth
but i have never seen a NOS or a brand new one

you have to borrow them off other equipment
i may or may not have been known to walk around with a new cut jewel in my pocket
when i am touring the old stuff sheds and warehouses i know of

" err do you reckon i can swap the round jewel over on this 1968 IBM number sequencer for a cut jewel so i can replace the broken one on my pultec ?"

there are some levels you probably should not go to with stuff
i am already so far past that point all i can do is leave breadcrumbs behind so maybe i can find my way home again one day

Yes Rick it's the - "look into my eyes.....look into my eyes.....you are in a pultec pilot light hypnosis....(while waving your hands around vigorously)

They'll either fall into a deep sleep ....or call security


The un-faceted pilot lights seem to be available....but again not original pultec.

Does anyone have that help line??
