Re: Quad Eight MM403 Pair
Here's the best photo I could find. I'll take some proper ones when I get home...
Fully racked by Rob.
I bought these off Nic aka Aearth for $3500 almost a year ago. Had them recapped by Steve Wilson and am about to take them back to him for a bit of a spruce up.
I'm asking $4500 because that's what I have spent on them. They have served me well but I'm keen to move on and experiment with some other gear! Oh and they have been used on some pretty big records here at BJB.

Re: Quad Eight MM403 Pair
I understand that this does seem like a lot, however if I go any less I would be losing money on these babies. And to be honest, I don't really want to let them go! Right now I am just testing the waters...

Re: Quad Eight MM403 Pair
I would love them! but unfortunately it comes down to the cash, i ain't got any! I think Ric's killer deal on 3 for $3600 was very impressive and still took a little to motivate people to spend, not saying that this isn't a good deal maybe just a sign of the times. I have had minimal to no interest in a 2.8Ghz 8 core Mac Pro for $2000 and thats including reasonable offfers. Not that i am comparing, You wanna trade

Re: Quad Eight MM403 Pair
things are only worth what they are worth on the day - we all know that
all that stuff i just sold was priced sell and in perfect nick
so it sold - quickly ( 5 days )
i could have gotten more money ( maybe 25 % more across the lot )
but i couldn't really wait - i needed the money put elsewhere so i factored that into my price - i always do
so you just have to factor the "what if i dont get any money " equation
that said in a purely technical way i have made money on all those things because i bought them at the right time and i have used them to make money over the years you cannot just think of your "well it cost me this much and i dont want to lose money " factor i reckon it just doesnt work that way
your QE are not priced sell i am afraid Jeep - we discussed it a while back
i think you need to do the sums of what you will do with the money they bring and then you can price it realistically for a sale - or hang on to them and use them to make money
that said it could be turtlerock just isnt the right place to sell them at your price
have you run them on ebay ?

Dont want to be a wet rag, but looks like these ones didn't even get a bid at $100! Shabby rack job but still.

Nah I was watching this auction, it was at around 500 and got pulled.. I was willing to go a lot higher than that, I'm sure other bidders were too.

Almost sold these about 2 years ago but couldn't bring myself to part with these beauties. This time it's for real. Looking for around $2.5k ONO.
