Bad week for classic Oz rock. I didn't know about Steve. When the war is over is an all time classic. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

Very sorry to hear that.
I don't know very much about Oz rockers but I had the very great pleasure of working with Tony Mitchell recently. Fabulous bass player and extremely nice bloke.
He'd played a benefit show in Melbourne (October I think?) where Harvey had played guitar with all the bands despite his condition.
I certainly enjoyed hearing all the Sherbert stories.
Sad day.

i did steves last solo record and harvey slept on my couch at my house more then once
its hard when the news stories are your mates and clients
the last 18 months has been a shocker

I'd just last week been thinking of "When the War is Over" and googled up Farnham live - what a great performance of a great song. Steve had a great feel and if what the press says is right he wrote "Forever Now" as well. A huge influence on our lives.
I didn't really know much about Harvey's work (I arrived from NZ 1979) but he seemed to be the classic Strat player with a lovely range of tones.

Hi there,

Harv and I worked together at Brashs in Pitt st in 1986
(We actually did an interview together with Donny Sutherland on his show)

Harv was a great guy and a beautiful player.
Every morning at 11 o clock Harv would be at the Hilton across the road having his first beer and a few cigarettes.
Unfortunately, sometimes, those good times catch up with us.
