Airport Express

Postby Matt_Gio » Fri Mar 11, 2011 12:07 pm

Hey guys,

I just installed the Apple airport express at studio... and I gotta say.
It's Awesome!
do yourselves a favour and get it going.

It means bands can just walk in and start playing you their demo's straight off their iphone from the couch!

....very cool.
Digital and Analogue out. I'm sure D/A isnt amazing.. but for referencing and easy listening its fine!
Apple TV does this too though I needed the express so that I could use it as a wireless adapter from my mac pro as well.

anyway.. just thought I'd share.

Agreed, for $150 or so odd dollars, you get better transmission bandwidth than bluetoothing the music.

I got one a couple of months back to do that same thing, in fact go one to play into my stereo as well.

What's wrong with a $5 lead?

We have an apple extreme base station here... It is ridiculously handy! Apart from handling the usual routing and network do-dads, it can do all sorts of funky stuff with mac related paraphernalia. The integration is pretty intense. iCal's, address books, mailboxes being synced between devices, itunes libraries being remotely accessible including playing movies/music through an apple tv and via the stereo.

It has made shit easy. And all it does it plug into the cable connection router and the power point.

I've just got an AppleTV for the lounge room, so the Airport Express has been moved into the Studio Room, it's a great piece of kit.

It also makes for a great portable router when traveling, for those annoying hotels that only have cable WiFi.
