So... i have two Altec 21D valve pencil condensers on the way from the states at the moment. Unfortunately they do not have power supplies.
I know its a bit of a long shot but was wondering if anyone on here had one or two of the Altec 525a power supplies lying around?
If you do and want to get rid of them please let me know.
Cheers all.
Jonny.

Re: WTB: Altec 525a PSU x 2
i have original supplies for a pair of mics
i reckon the supplies are shit ( by design )
get rob squire to build you new ones they will be cheaper quieter and better -
its not like a neumann supply which adds value to the mic set
see if you can get Rob to do a run i think several of us would line up for them at the right price
have you got cables - the altec ones of those are shit too
good thing the mics are so cool looking ...

Thanks for the reply Rick.
They are very cool looking! Cant wait to hear them though.
Yeah my first thought was to ask Rob to build them for me but just thought i would see if there were any kicking around first.
I found the schematics on the net so hopefully it shouldn't be a big deal. From what i can tell they both come with the altec cables.
Ill shoot Rob an email and see what he says. Depending on how that goes ill see who else is interested.
Thanks again.

hmm
I have documents here for the 21B microphone and associated P518A and P519A power supplies
The only thing that is tricky is that the microphone's output transformer is located in the PSU. A equivalent would need to be sourced
