Icehouse resurgence?

Just throwing this out there...
It could be just me, or pure coincidence, or both, but is some kind of rekindled Icehouse phenomena happening on commercial FM radio?
At least in Melb, after a week or more of noticing what seemed like higher rotation Icehouse (admittedly also Men At Work, Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock), last night three stations - MMM, Gold and Vega - all playing different Icehouse hits simultaneously. Then a friend mentioned how often Electric Blue was being aired each day on Mix FM.

A tour promotion?

(A degree of cynicsm acknowledged. I loathe commercial radio's reptition playlisting. At least it's good Aust content...)

This would seem to be because these people have just been inducted into the ARIA hall of fame, so there has been some topicality about their music.

you might find that warners have bought festival and just reissued the entire icehouse catalog !
as well as split enz & we are about to work through the models for them so i guess that will be next on the repeat play

oh did i mention the entire kylie catalog is being remastered ( guess where? and by who ..?) and will be available in time for the tour later in the year

what about my mate Angel - called warner, interupted a meeting and told em he had new songs and lyrics for Ice House ( one song was called " liscence for love").
They said send 'em down ... so he posted 'em over with an 80's Blue Leather SToneWash Jacket rolled up in the package.

Cultural cringe......and the Aust music industry..
You could say that about so many bands / recording artists, going way back. For anyone who likes Jo Jackson... have a listen to Brian Auger for instance. There have only been a few who given the right time and place in music history and their undeniable uniqueness have been original innovators.......

And folks, if any of you could do what you can to mangle any and all versions of Funky Town, I for one would be eternally grateful.

Back on thread: I saw ID/Icehouse live back when they were Flowers. And I think I have the vinyl somewhere to prove it. I think in style, genre and innovation I'd be putting them more in the Bowie camp than Roxy Music. And that's intended as a compliment, not a cringe.

Na not being serious, plus my girlfriend kicked me when she saw what I wrote. Anything 80s is fine by her though.
