API Lunch Box

How cool is the Lunch Box, just so handy, six very high end pres in one hand. Just makes location recordings so easy, especially the dreaded drum kit.
So who's got one and what do you have in it.

I Have the API six slot Lunch Box with:
2 x OSA (Old School Audio) MP-1 L3..........big bottom end
2 x A-Designs P-1........API/Neve sounding, great all rounder especially on vox and OH's
1 x A-Designs EM Blue.......mid/bright sounding, great for acoustic instruments.
So with the Lunch Box and my API 3124+ I've really got the drums covered.
The OSA pres are the only ones I could get used on eBay in Aus, the rest I got new, which was disappointing $$$ wise as I couldn't get any here and no one wanted to sell to overseas buys in the USA.

How easy is it to get API pre's in australia?

New ones are no problem, $1100 a pre module, EQ and comp are more.

I have the 3124, but not the 512, but Daniel reckons theres not much in them. The API are big on drums, you could just about shove an API on every bit of the kit. Vox, bass works all work good.....API all rounder pres, very punchie, but not smooth like a Neve or Chandler. Most of the 500 series modules (other brands) have a bit of the API signature, but may vary in tone with some more toppy, others bassie.

No I have no idea, but I would say they must be good they don't last too long on eBay. You need to go direct to USA.
If you are going to run a few of the Averill you probably need to use his box as each module needs 80mA. The API 6 slot Lunch Box maxes out at 360mA.

OSA 50mA
Purple Biz 70mA
A-Designs not sure but you can have 6 modules in the API 6 slot Lunch Box
Shadow Hills 100mA
Buzz Elixir 150mA

Exactly, but yanks (private sales) do not want to sell to Aussie for some reason, I think it must be too much paper work.
