Re: AMPEG SVX
I've had a play with it, certainly sounds ampeg like.
Is there a demo version?

There was a free AMPEG SVX UNO version that was free.
Just was not sure whether I wanted to buy this as a get one free option.

I've only used the free Uno version. You can only use one amp model. It's ok. Personally I'd rather reamp (& usually do), but if I were to buy a "full" version it'd probably be this one. It doesn't sound fake, just a little two dimensional compared to a real amp.

I think it would be a handy addition to the folder.

Re: AMPEG SVX
Well I took the plunge and bought IK Multimedia Ampeg SVX bass software. No bass amps allowed in the bedroom.
I really am digging the B-15 flip top. It sounds so Vintage. There is one preset there when played on the old 71 jazz where it sounds exactly like the bass of the theme song "Hey Hey Hey its Fat Albert"
Now they dont make shows like that anymore.
I guess Barney would be loving his real deal B-15.

Re: AMPEG SVX
have used the full version in another studio...cant say it exactly sat in the mix very well...
with the distortion, a lot of bass kinda died off, and lost the girth required to "hear" bass in the mix.
kinda pointless now that you've already bought it...but if you like it, thats good.
i guess, outboard compression and or saturation, can make up for anything it seems, these days.

Didn't Herbie Hancock write the Fat Albert theme... so funky.
I have the Ampeg plug... it's the bomb, I use it on everything!

The show's theme song, titled "Fat Albert Theme", was written by Ricky Sheldon and Edward Fournier. According to Wiki
