Re: Solid mic stands in Melbourne?
I know its an old thread but I just came across this stand today and though it may be of interest.

Seems to be well designed, haven't played with one yet to have a real world opinion.
Aus Pricing is around $300 each
Anyone seen or used one??

In theory yes Jamil - but the sticking point is always the clasp mechanism - done properly with teeth its a huge job to undertake.

These are $90 from AEA.
For the WWII look you could add a heavy base (eg. steel outdoor umbrella base), attach 4 wheels, then buy some steel lengths to piece it all together. Would be some spot welding to get done, but you could contact your local steel fabricator to do the 10 minutes required for this. Just thoughts....

Now were talkin - chunky stuff - You could even mount it on the back of a ute to hold a spottie.
I have a few old cast iron fan stand bases that could take those AEA clamps.....

I just thought if there was an Australian distributor it's worth checking the price locally.

Re: Solid mic stands in Melbourne?
They ship from Pasadena CA so I'd guess AUD $85 + $20 shipping = approx $105 AUD. Even if there was a supplier in oz it would be more than that price before shipping. me thinks.....
Anyway.... go beep yourselves ya beeping beeps
