Lexicon MPX500

Postby Lucas » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:36 pm

I'm putting together a FOH rack that will see quite a few visiting engineers for national touring acts. I want to be accommodating as possible and want to have examples of TC, Lexi & Yamaha FX units.

Already have a couple of M-ones in there, hoping to snare a SPX soon and am currently looking at Lexicon options.

Is anyone aware of preferred Lexis for FOH live work? I know the PCM 60 & 70 had some affection, but unfortunately they usually fall outside the budget. I've been offered a MPX500 for $210, which seems like a bargain? Was hoping the algorithms and interface would be suited to live work and would be well received.

Has any one had any experience with this unit?

Any comments welcomed

Cheers!

I've used it in the studio, but not for live work. I thought it was ok for a cheaper unit. For $210 I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it.

Happy user of the MPX1. Marries well with the Digi 003 using digital i/o's. Sounds nicer then most cheaper Reverb plug-ins.

Ended up getting it for under $200 so if it's not well received I may be able to sell it for a profit....
