Now there's a tapeoholic! Doesn't that look fantastic? Computers just don't have that visual appeal (except maybe at NASA).

Over $74k Aus, dreamin'? Maybe, but imagine how much time and money it would take to assemble that collection, all in working order, one machine at a time. Plus, collectors of old audio stuff are strange folks, right?

I don't reckon he's dreaming by any stretch.
Sure, it seems like alot but people pay big money for things they collect, so why should tape machines be any different? None of these are made any more, so as more and more machines get relegated to landfill they will become rarer and rarer. And to have all of them in one spot makes them worth more than the individual parts.
A guy recently paid $120k for a bottle of whiskey. So $70k for 70 tape machines is not so ridiculous.
I reckon once the Chinese become richer than all of us, they'll be snapping up our collectables like there's no tomorrow.
At least that's what I'm hoping ;-0

I reckon he can ask what ever he likes... but someone's got to be willing to pay it. right?
The little devil inside of me wants to ask him if he could mod them all to sync together, cos I'd like 140 tracks
