Re: FS on Ebay: Meyer HD1
replaced them with the new quested VS2108a
which i am EXTREMELY happy with
and its nice to have new stuff too... cause we did such a big reno in the studio, its just lovely to have new speakers with all the new paint and new couches and so on and so forth.
lucas - if i had a lawn to mow i might take you up on that offer.
its pretty good barter.

I am possibly moving backwards to a bedroom studio and I fear my JLM Audio BAM 1's will be much to big. (just came to this conclusion about 5 minutes ago)
If I had the dough I would buy your Meyer's.
Never heard them but heard great things about them.
These would be perfect I reckon....
Just not the right timing for me.![]()
So many uncertainties right now....
Hey Angus, what makes you think the BAM1's will be much too big? They are only 10cm taller than the HD1's... while 5cm narrower. They aren't really that much different in size.
...nor to I suspect in sound. I never really understood the whole "those speakers are too big for your room" thing. I can understand it in terms of maybe hanging a pair of L'Acoustics K1 Line Arrays from your rafters, but a nearfield monitor is a nearfield monitor... regardless of whether it is using a 4" driver or an 8" driver.
Maybe I'm biased, as I am using a pair of duntech towers in a room not much bigger than 4m x 3.5m (a vaulted ceiling definitely helps...). They sound fantastic at just 2m away! Like... jawdropping fantastic. I've come to the conclusion that a dB here and there, up or down in the frequency response is very minor compared to... say... an RT60 time that varies greatly across the frequency spectrum.

While we are offering barters, I'm a sheep farmer so I'll put up my bid of 20 sheep. If you have a large grassy backyard all will be well, if not I'll throw in a truckload of hay as well.
All the wool that you grow will make excellent studio insulation, not to mention delicious lamb kebabs for late night sessions.

I will take 20 sheep
Slaughtered butchered and delivered to my house once a month
Everymonth for the next 20 months
Were do you want my spare set of speakers sent

$56k worth of sheep, not to mention butchering and freight across the Nullarbor?
I have the sheep ready to go, but I think I'd want something far older and heavier for that.
On the plus side, the weekly Turtlerock lamb chop BBQs would become legendary in the pro audio world.
Now I'll stop hijacking the thread. Would love the speakers but alas that I have more sheep than dollars in the bank.

Ahh, I see Rick, only 20 sheep total, not 20 every month. My brain is frazzled from a long night editing or playing Battlefield 3 or something.
If I lived closer I'd take you up on that.
