So I went to the Avid launch at Turramurra which I really enjoyed. The guy doing the presso knew his stuff fairly well (despite being a bit biased towards post) and I learned a lot - more than I expected to actually.
Disk caching is a really impressive feature as is clip gain (yes, Nuendo had it years ago but whatever). Plugins are all improved and the addition of the Euphonix channel strip looks good.
Anyway, my personal highlight was winning the door prize of a free copy of PT10. Not quite sure what to do with it, as the studio is all HD based. Still I can whack it on the laptop and get better at using it ( I've never had PT in my home system before, always Logic).

Nah, I've taken it as a sign I need to learn Pro Tools properly. Marc (my business partner and who is a "proper" engineer) is the Pro Tools guy, I chiefly work in Logic.
Also, I'd feel conflicted about taking money for something I got for free. Trade might be an option, but the only thing I am in the market for at the moment is high-end mics, and I can't see anyone giving me a 414 or a U87 for it

I've got a ribbon mic that I've only used a couple of times for trade. Pm me if you change your mind.
