I used to drive a Karma Ghia that I bought from a fat lady.. the springs were worn out on one side so it was a bit unbalanced.. pulled to the right a bit as you drove.

This one came up recently. Again put together by Justin Colletti (of sonicscoop). Brooklyn has become a great little studio community due to the efforts of everyone pulling together. I was there in April and it's got such a great vibe. Everyone is busy making music and making it work.
Cool - some great articles. Thanks for the link.

Oh boy. Chimay, Duvel, Gulden Draak. Best tasting beers. Also can be pretty lethal if you drink them quick!
Those Belguim monks sure know how to get hammered

For reasons not worth going into
I have just mowed my front and back lawn for the first time in 30 years
It doesnt get much more fun after not doing it for 30 years
Whats next drinking beer?
( i havent had a beer since i was 21 )
At least i have a head start on the right brands
Me mowing lawns again?
The times are a changing

My wife does it - all 5'1" and 48kgs of her. She loves it, so I "indulge" her. We have an electric mower which is just brilliant and very light - not sure she'd be quite as keen with a petrol mower.

I have had a lawn mowey man for about 8 years
Before that i had innercity concrete lawn since
I was barely a teenager
No lawn mowey man at the moment
Or more the point i am now him
I put a stainless steel beerholder in one of my
Old cars once to hold drinks
In true australian style the model i bought for the car was invented
To clamp onto your lawnmower to hold your beer while you work
And being stainless steel it would add the obviously
Needed bling to get your neighbours wife interested in being
Covented ,thus the great aussie expression
Of "cutting your neighbours grass"
Lets check in prior to christmas next year and
See if i am still mowing my own lawn
See if i am drinking beer yet
See if i am writing for anybody at all

Re: Integrity is what you do when nobody is looking
My daughter's pet lamb is currently looking after the back lawn, the horses look after the paddocks, an hour or so on the ride on takes care of the front lawn. Then once a fortnight I spend four hours on the tractor mowing the fairways at the golf course. Sun gonna shine, rain gonna rain, grass gonna grow. Plus, I still drink beer, Coopers, that is.

Re: Integrity is what you do when nobody is looking
We named our ride on "Geoff" after the nice man at the mower shop who sold it to us. It makes it easy to remember his name when we take it in for a service.
I spend 1.5 hours on him every 2 weeks during the summer months and for the rest of the year the wallabies, kangaroo's and wombat's are my lawn bitches. They do a very nice cut.
I trust everyone is cutting back over their Swarf cuttings.
I prepare by wearing earbud phones for music then over the top of that goes the industrial muffs. It's a great time to think.
I want to know more about the drink holder because geoff could use one and so could I.

Ha - ride on mowers don't count - they're actually fun for a while. And it's very good to hear you put in the earplugs - last time I looked the push mower was rated at 87dB but they lie!!!! I measured it with the SPL meter and it was nearly 87dB before I even started the thing ...... awful machines even with beer

I have a pair of industrial muffs that I got when I was working on aircraft on the flight line. I have modified them with the inserts from a pair of headphones and an .mp3 player clipped to the headband. Helps to suspend reality for a while.

It's an all in one mowing helmet.... If you want it to be.
I'm looking for a set and i'd better hurry cus the grass is growing like wildflowers at the mo.
I'm going to have to do something about some sun protection though. It's no brimmed hat.

Apologies from me mostly... I have a knack of steering topics off topic.
My lawn mowing helmet has nothing to do with integrity... especially once seen wearing it.

Re: Integrity is what you do when nobody is looking
As much as I like beer and mowers, I just stumbled on this thread and have a timely coincidence to report.
I also like beer and mowers! (kidding, that's not the coincidence)
I subscribe to a magazine from the US called Tape Op, you guys might read it too.
(see http://www.tapeop.com/)
If you haven't seen it, it's refreshing reading for many reasons. It's got interesting and genuine interviews (content, subjects, and interviewers), honest reviews, intelligent readership, and a non-patronising and inclusive tone ie: "you've recorded an awesome sounding album with two saucepans and a bent 57? sweet. Tell us about it". I met the editor and a few of the writers on a couple of trips to the US and they seem like they've got their heads on properly.
For some background, it's distributed free in the US and UK (postage cost to Aus though) with a US-based core content, though the UK version contains about half the mag specific to the local scene.
Anyway, I got a free subscription with some mics I bought recently and the guy who currently distributes the mag in Australia (Kevin @ 555 in Melbs) mentioned that Larry at Tape Op had said they were happy to let us Aussies do our own section of the mag for the local content, but so far no-one's taken up the job.
Err, I can see a round peg and a round hole.
