API Lunch Box

So who around here uses a API type of powered rack.

They are a great idea especially if you need top end pres for location work, just pick-up a six pack of pres in one hand. Once you get the powered rack like the API Lunch Box it can work out quite cheap filling up the slots with pres, EQs or comps. You can actually save $1k for a stereo pair of pres.

Here is a link to some Aussie sites where you can get racks and modules.
API Legacy audio http://www.legacyaudio.com.au/index.php
A-Designs and BAE BSG http://www.brisound.com.au/home/default.asp
Buzz GBG http://www.gbg-technology.com/

There are better pres out there, better than Avalon and Focusrite

Hey Nick, I will be real soon, I was sold on the lunchbox format when I met all you guys at the gear shootout. I called gbg last week and they are gonna sort me out. I just bought new converters so I have a gaping empty spot in my pocket. Over the next few weeks I'm gonna get a lunchbox and an elixr pre or 2 to start, then defineately 1 of those P1's and when I get some more moolah a couple of the API eq's for drums.

I reckon by this time next year I'll probably have a draw full of 500 series modules, hehe. Hey when I get a few modules how about we do a swap now and then, would be cool. Have you tried the Shadow Hills Gama pre? Looks awesome but I'm keen to hear it.

I still remember about 3 years back when a mate told me with this serious look on his face he was getting a lunch box, I laughed and said "what the #$@% is that", can you cook sandwiches in it? Wish I bought 1 back then, haha. They are better than cooked sangas.

Cheers

Cool Heath
Talk to the boys at Limestone they really dig the P-1 for OH's and vox, they keep borrowing them and remember they have the Elixer. Get 2 x P-1 unless you going to the Pacifica
